A Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income (Double Tax Treaty) has been signed by Malta and Mexico.

The primary objective of this signing is to eliminate double taxation obstacles to trade and investment between Malta and Mexico. Moreover, the treaty provides for the exchange of information on tax matters on the basis of internationally agreed standards. This double taxation agreement is the second that has been signed between Malta and Latin American countries. Recently, a treaty between Malta and Uruguay was signed.
